After a close game, the best thing to eat to calm your nerves is a good square (well, roundish) meal – in the shape of potato fritters, or Rievkooche as they’re known locally. You can get really scrumptious ones at this popular, no-frills place near Heumarkt. Made fresh by hand and served with a wide variety of sources, these Rievkooche are a true delicacy.

Footie in the Belgian Quarter with a stop to pick up some yummy rotisserie-style chicken on the way. And Das Brüsseler does one of the best. Grab a portion of fries to complete your meal and you’ll be in a good mood whatever happens in the stadium (almost).
