Actor Katrin Heß spent more than ten years playing a touch-cookie inspector in the RTL police series “Alarm für Cobra 11”. But acting isn’t the only thing that brought her to the public’s attention: she’s also known for campaigning for causes close to her heart such as in her work for the animal rights organisation Peta.
Katrin had been planning to study medicine in nearby Aachen but a spur-of-the-moment decision took her to Cologne to train as an actor. Today, Katrin lives in – you guessed it – Cologne and is very happy there, as she tells us in the latest episode of Köln Clash.
Beni Tonka travelled half way around the world, always looking for one thing: his natural father and a sense of belonging. He eventually found his second family in Trinidad and, with them, Caribbean cuisine and all the variety and fiery flavour it offers. His cookery book, “Good Lime”, brings together a selection of recipes for spicy Caribbean dishes and personal stories about his odyssey. Today, Beni is a big fan of Cologne.
In episode 22, our two podcast guests reveal their favourite restaurants and pubs in Cologne and take us on a culinary journey through the city. Plus, Beni has a daringly spicy challenge for Katrin and host Ben. Take a listen!
