Cologne is full of exciting little shops and concept stores. Losing track while Christmas shopping? Pretty much guaranteed. But no worries — just keep reading. We’re sharing our five favourite shops. Happy browsing!
Chien Gentil – prints, ceramics, jewellery & small labels
Caro’s tip: “Chien Gentil is a small, sweet concept store. Instead of mainstream items, you’ll find selected prints, décor, ceramics, jewellery, books and plenty of lovely bits and bobs that make great gifts. I love that so many small labels are featured, including some from Cologne. You can even get Proxies here — alcohol-free drinks inspired by wine but not made from grapes. And the logo is a dachshund, so the shop simply can’t be bad! My recommendation for anyone looking for something individual and thoughtfully chosen.”

HURRA. – wine, home accessories, fine foods & gift ideas
Jana’s tip: “If you’re not entirely sure what you want to give, HURRA. will definitely spark ideas. I like that it’s not just a wine shop: you’ll find great wines, but also home accessories, beautiful plants, delicatessen, jewellery and plenty of small gift ideas. Cologne brands are represented too. Right now, there are also special mulled wines, plus handmade pralines, DIY drinks and lots of culinary treats. The store is beautifully curated and the staff are truly lovely and helpful. Honestly, I find something here every time — something that suits someone in my circle of friends or family.”

Spielbrett – board games from classics to hidden gems
Jesse’s tip: “Honestly, nothing beats a good old board game at Christmas. If you feel the same, I can only recommend Spielbrett. The selection is huge — from timeless classics to nerdy off-beat gems and the latest hits. You can browse strategy, party, themed and family games, and plenty more. What makes the whole experience so relaxed is the advice: the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and always on hand to help you find just the right game for you, your family or your friends. And at Christmas, that’s worth its weight in gold.”

GrünBlauGrau Intérieur – aesthetic interiors, prints & wine
Kim’s tip: “At GrünBlauGrau, everything comes from small makers. I love the shop because it is styled with such care that even the tiniest pieces feel special, whether it’s wine, prints or interior items. If you’re looking to surprise someone with an eye for design and fine details, you’ll find something here in no time. I also love the regular pop-up events and artist collaborations. They make every visit feel a little different.”
