Caro’s tip: “Chien Gentil is a small, sweet concept store. Instead of mainstream items, you’ll find selected prints, décor, ceramics, jewellery, books and plenty of lovely bits and bobs that make great gifts. I love that so many small labels are featured, including some from Cologne. You can even get Proxies here — alcohol-free drinks inspired by wine but not made from grapes. And the logo is a dachshund, so the shop simply can’t be bad! My recommendation for anyone looking for something individual and thoughtfully chosen.”

Cologne brands are represented too. Right now, there are also special mulled wines, plus handmade pralines, DIY drinks and lots of culinary treats. The store is beautifully curated and the staff are truly lovely and helpful. Honestly, I find something here every time — something that suits someone in my circle of friends or family.”
